There is so much to see and do in the New Forest and surrounding areas that one holiday break just won’t be enough.
Blashford Manor is situated on the southerly edge of the New Forest which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and provides easy access to all that the New Forest offers as well as the Dorset Jurassic coastline, Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island, Sandbanks and the Purbecks.
Whilst the New Forest enjoys some of the best weather the UK can provide, we have highlighted attractions that are suitable for all weathers.
The world renown Stonehenge and the lesser known Woodhenge and Avebury Rings are within easy travelling distance. Salisbury also offers a beautiful cathedral and market place. Wimborne Minster, Badbury Rings and Kingston Lacy House provide more than enough for a days outing along with traditional pubs, walks and lovely shops.
Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World are easily accessible and make for a great day out.
The Isle of Purbeck with Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and the beautiful Studland Bay are all only an easy drive away.
If shopping takes your fancy why not try Southampton, Winchester, Bournemouth and Salisbury. All offer high street names as well as local enterprises.
Historic Towns and Villages
The surrounding area is home to many picturesque cities, towns and villages. It is east to spend a day or more exploring the local cathedral towns of Salisbury and Winchester and the beautiful Minster at Wimborne. Poole with its historic port, and Wareham with its ancient Quay that is the gateway to the Purbecks and the Jurassic Coast, are all within easy driving distance. Closer to your stay are the old villages of Burley, Beaulie and Bucklers Hard.
History surrounds the area from the ancient rings at Stonehenge to the car museaum at Beaulie there is something for all the family.
Sporting Events and Shows
There are so many that it is difficult to list all, however favourites are the New Forest Show held during late July, Ellingham show during August, and the numerous village shows and fetes during the spring and summer. Ringwood has its own Grand Prix (pedal cars only!) which alternates with the local village of New Milton so every other year the town stops and enjoys the spectacle of furious pedal cars racing through the streets to cheers from well wishers.
Goodwood with its horse racing, Festival of Speed and Revival meeting is within easy driving distance and we offer safe and secure parking for your prized classic car or bike.
